Affordable Premium Denim

I’m a denim snob.  It’s not the brand I covet, it’s the fit.  Truth be told, it’s hard to find a decent quality pair of jeans that holds their shape and looks rockin’ on my bod for under $50.  I’ve tried many brands - BDG at Urban Outfitters being my latest cheap find, but none stack up to my tried and true Earnest Sewn, Denim of Virtue and Rich and Skinny.  The former was a $54 bargain and the latter are all in the $150-$200 range.

I wear my jeans more than any other article of clothing, so why would I skimp on this purchase?  Then again, why must I pay such a high price for a great pair of jeans?  This exact question was on the mind of Karyn, the founder of Alias Denim.  She was tired of paying too much for designer jeans and started her own line of premium denim with a retail price of only $40.  Sounds too good to be true you say?  Well, you better believe these jeans are spectacular for the price.  I have been wearing and washing the Sweet Dee style for over a month and must admit that Alias may finally set this denim snob on the path to financial recovery.

aliasdenimfullfront.jpgThe Sweet Dee is a dark wash jean with a bit of stretch – but not so much that they are sagging in all the wrong places after a few hours.  These held up well for a few days of wear and were ultra comfortable_jeanback.jpgeven with the lower rise.  The fit through the thigh is tight enough to render a flattering silhouette whilst escaping the crime of making your legs look like mini sausages.  My husband even commented that the view from the front was very flattering.  This is a good thing as I have larger hips and muscular thighs, so it is difficult to find a perfect pair of pants.  The other issue is length since I have long legs.  The inseam on the Sweet Dee was a generous 34 inches which is perfect to wear with flats or heels up to 1.5 inches.  If you are shorter the jeans will give you extra length to wear with high heels or you can easily  have them hemmed.

But don’t just take my word for it.  Several other ladies have tried the jeans and love ‘em as well.  New styles are on the horizon so keep an eye out for great happenings with this new brand and shop for affordable premium denim at the Alias online store.

Those look awesome! I have to admit that I actually prefer darker denim. Like you, my jeans get more mileage than anything in my closet. And I hate forking over a week’s worth of groceries for a pair. $40 is a fabulous price. I’ll have to check them out.

Wow that is a fab price. Like you I am fussy about denim. Cheap stuff just never seems to feel good or hang right.

And you look fab as always of course!

Wow, you look great in those jeans! And jeans are so difficult to shop for, it puzzles me sometimes why it’s so hard to find a pair that fits me perfectly. LOL.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Deka - Thanks! It’s tough to find nice jeans with that long of an inseam — I have heard that the Vigoss brand is good and I think you can get them for under $60 at Alloy.com — I know Alloy has inseams of 36″ so check out the site. If I come across anything else, I’ll be sure to let you know. Thanks for commenting :)
