Ask The Lady…Summer Skirts
I am seeing skirts everywhere this Summer and would like to purchase a few. Problem is, I dress more casual and am not sure if a skirt is right for me. I am afraid of looking to girly or overdone if that makes any sense - any advice on how to wear them?
Skirts are all over the fashion landscape this season and there are several affordable options. They are not just for fancy parties and you can downplay the girly vibe easily. Depending on the fabric, cut and coordinating top, the skirt can take on many different looks.
Here are some ideas to play it casual, but still maintain an elegant look:
1. Full Circle Skirts - A feminine style that flatters the figure can be downplayed simply by adding a basic tee shirt or tank top with a pair of flats or casual sandals. Balance this fuller skirt with a simple, sleek top. Avoid voluminous tops and trapeze style tunics that hide the defined waist.

I’ve been wearing a lot of skirts lately - mostly just topped with a black vest top. You have to have very good legs to wear a straight short skirt. I only do that in winter these days with tights.

I have a couple of skirts that I wear to church. They were longer skirts, but I had them hemmed up to just above the knee. I don’t go much shorter than that.

RB - A vest sounds nice with a skirt. I can still wear short straight skirts without tights but my legs are my best feature.

If I need it to be a bit more dressed up, I just add cute accessories (earrings, necklace, heels, purse).
